Red symbolises power and energy, and it can also imitate the colour of blood, which naturally grabs human attention. Because of this strong association with intensity and vitality, red often creates a sense of excitement and urgency. It is commonly used to represent boldness, passion, and confidence, which gives it a youthful and energetic feeling.

This is why red is often used to target younger audiences specifically. Younger people are generally more drawn to bright, high-energy colours that feel exciting and stimulating. The boldness of red can make products, advertisements, or brands appear more fun, adventurous, and modern. It also stands out strongly against other colours, helping it catch attention quickly, which is effective for engaging younger viewers who are often exposed to a lot of visual media. Because of these qualities, red can make a product feel more dynamic and appealing to a younger demographic

Max Huber

Max Huber was a highly influential Swiss graphic designer known for his work in Milan, blending vivid colours, photography and geometric abstraction (concrete art) to create iconic modern designs and posters. He was a leading figure in post - war design, famous for corporate identities like La Renascent and for his work with Einaudi.

I think the design is very unique and well-crafted, and may hold a message that everything is aligned into how it is and that everything is made symmetrical. and the way the color matches, which upgrades it to a more polished look.

How does this link to my FMP

The images of his work link to my fmp because i will be creating a poster and the designs of the work above shows a good example of his drawing in which i will be able to use it for inspiration when creating my FMP which is based on theme on connections through Travis's Scott Posters to audience and how it created a sense of hype and connection for the audience.

Primary Research – Travis Scott Poster Series

For my primary research, I looked at how Travis Scott presents himself through music visuals, album covers, concerts, and social media. I focused on the overall mood and aesthetic connected to his brand and how this could influence my own poster designs.

One thing I noticed straight away was the use of dark and earthy colors. A lot of his visuals use blacks, browns, reds, and faded tones which create a cinematic and intense atmosphere. I think this works well because it matches the energy of his music and performances. I want to use a similar color palette in my posters to create the same dramatic feeling.

I also researched the typography used across his albums and promotional graphics. The fonts are often distorted, bold, uneven, or handwritten which gives the designs a raw and chaotic appearance. This inspired me to experiment with layered text, stretched lettering, and unusual layouts instead of using clean or simple typography.

Another area I explored was composition. Travis Scott visuals often feel crowded and immersive, with overlapping imagery, lighting effects, textures, and motion blur. I like how the designs feel energetic rather than organized, and I want my posters to capture that same sense of movement and excitement.

I was also inspired by themes that appear throughout his work, such as surrealism, performance energy, rebellion, and escapism. His visuals feel larger than life and almost dreamlike at times. Because of this, I plan to include dramatic imagery and edited effects in my poster series to create a more atmospheric outcome.

Overall, my primary research helped me understand the visual style associated with Travis Scott and how graphic design can reflect music and emotion. It gave me ideas for color, typography, layout, and imagery that I can apply to my final three poster designs.
